    Nice article. I use Grandperspective to get an overview of files sizes on my disk. Useful for clearing large files you’ve forgotten were there:) http://grandperspectiv.sourceforge.net/

    I understand the startup items and 15% empty space. I don’t understand however how any of the other suggestions lead to FASTER performance in terms of running a DAW etc.

    UninstallPKG is pretty handy too – and helps with cleaning up old package files. I think it is (to my knowledge) the only tool of it’s kind for the Mac and basically works hand in hand with CleanMyMac.
