I have 20 years under my belt in electronic music and releases on about 50 different labels around the world. I take pride in my craft.

I will work with your references to give your music a professional touch. I’ll work on dimension, punch and spectral balance. Depending on what it needs to be I’ll make your track sound gritty and nasty or squeaky clean. I’ll make sure your music translates well for your target media and environment.

Working on your mixing project also gives me an inside look to your music. I’m happy to share my thoughts and tips in order to help you improve.

MIXING SERVICES AND RATES

My rates for mixing vary depending on the amount of work involved in the project.

Hit me up with what you have in mind and we’ll discuss the project & pricing.

I don’t do attended mixing or mastering.  This allows me to stay flexible with my schedule and keep the rates as low as possible.

Upon agreement you will receive a PayPal invoice. I will begin the work once the payment has cleared.

 

What you get:

– a 24 bit stereo WAV premaster (ready for mastering).

PREPARING AND SENDING YOUR PROJECT FOR MIXING

Please contact me to book your order first before sending your files.

A hassle-free way to send files is via wetransfer. Send to ilpo@resoundsound.com. Alternatively you can use any file transfer service you prefer and send me links via email.

Export each individual channel from your project. If you are opting for stem-mixing (max 10 stereo channels), group tracks the way you see best.

Specifications:

  • 24 bit WAV or AIFF format.
  • Sample rate the same as your project (typically 44 100 Hz or 48 000 Hz).
  • Export all channels starting from the beginning of the project.
  • In the exports include any creative effects that are essential to the sound of your track. Usually compression and EQ is best bypassed. If unsure, feel free to send both dry and wet versions.
  • Label all files clearly.

 

Also send:

  • Your rough demo mix.
  • Any notes or wishes.
  • Any reference music (a soundclip or even SoundCloud/YouTube link will do).

STUDIO

I work from the comfort of my own home. Using this setup I’ve produced and mixed countless of projects for many highly regarded electronic music labels including Exit Records, Metalheadz, Renegade Hardware, Function, Digital Soundboy, Samurai Music and more.

I work completely in the box. The software in this day and age is excellent and it only keeps getting better. Analog gear is great, but costly to obtain and maintain and doesn’t allow the same degree of flexibility.

In-the-box workflow and working from home enables me to work faster and cut costs in order to keep pricing as low as possible.

Resound mixing

Sometimes I begin setting up the mix in the kitchen with the Avantone Mixcube and a cup of good coffee!

The most important things in achieving a quality mix are:

  • To be able to connect to the music emotionally.
  • To have the technical skills and understanding to do the right things at the right time.
  • To have a good listening environment, to know this space (including it’s weak points) and understand how the work done there translates to other environments.

Good tools are important, too. I am constantly looking to improve the quality and workflow of my setup.
