I wanted to share a few of the best free Android apps that are making my life smoother. You can download these at the Android Market.
What are your favorite Android apps? Anything I should check out? Post it below in the comments.
Astrid
An extremely powerful to-do manager. I also use it as a shopping list. What is great is that it syncs with Google Tasks and a few other task managers. You can also collaborate on shared task lists.
Dolphin Browser HD
The “Firefox of Android”. Supports tabs, gestures, etc. You can supercharge it with loads of plugins, also available at the market. There is also a simplified mini version available.

Gmail
I manage all my different email addresses through Gmail and this app brings the same functionality on my phone. It’s a bit more versatile than the built-in mail app on my HTC.
Features include:
- Email pushed automatically to your phone
- Search all your messages
- Access synched messages when off line
- View messages by conversation
- Multiple Gmail accounts
- Stars, labels, and many other features
Juice Defender
A great and easy to use battery saving app. Packed with smart functions, it automatically and transparently manages the most battery draining components, like 3G/4G connectivity and WiFi.

Pulse News
A beautiful news reader. I don’t actually use it to read news but to follow up any blogs that I find interesting. The interface is like no other. Pulse will update content whenever you are online so that you can spend your offline time reading.
TED Air
View all the TED talks from this intuitive app. If you don’t know what TED is, head over to their website.
Touch Calendar
A great calendar app. Syncs with Google Calendar. Nuff said…

Tweetdeck
TweetDeck is a mobile browser for staying in touch with what’s happening on Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare and Buzz. What I like about it most is the interface which doesn’t only show updates but makes it easy to stay on top of things.
